The Fire house cooks are a group of volunteers (mostly women but mustn’t forget Norman who got his FoodSafe certificate so he could help) that prepare meals when called upon by the fire hall. We get together to make soups, sandwiches, dinners, and have a fun time doing it.
The main core volunteers are Avril, Colleen, Judy, Mary, and Wendy. There are others who help out when they are able or called upon for special occasions like Halloween.
The fire hall cooks have gotten a quite the reputation for serving up some pretty mean meals! The fire fighters rave about how delicious the meals are and are so thankful for the time and effort the cooks put into volunteering. One of our favourite meals served has to be the hearty Beef and Barley Soup, Lasagna and Caesar Salad. Yummy!
